Bulova Ladies' Sports Models of the 1920s
The Ladies' Sports Models were labeled as such in the vintage ads and can be found in those ads between 1926 and 1929. They have slightly larger cases than other ladies' models of the time, have regular--versus wire--lugs, and at least some of them have radium dials. They were intended to take either black or colored (e.g., red, green) leather bands rather than the traditional black grosgrain ribbon or ornate flexible link metal bracelet. In essence, they were less delicate and dressy than other ladies' watches, marketed toward women with perceived more casual, active lifestyles, or, as seen in the ad below, the need for multiple watches--one dressy and one casual. However, these watches were certainly not without style, as many of them had enameld inlay, including multiple colored inlays. Those are my favorite ladies' models from any decade.
