NOTES: This watch takes the same crystal as the Trident, and both the Trident and Alden are listed in G-S Catalog 1937 as taking the same crystal. All known ads for the Trident--of which there are many at this point--specify it as having a white gold case. A 1933 ad shows what appears to be the same watch in yellow gold, called the Alden. Then, in 1938, an ad shows what appears to be the same model in yellow gold, called the Chancellor. The 1933 Alden advertisement is closest to my watch in date. The name for the yellow gold model probably simply changed from the Alden to the Chancellor sometime before 1938.
